Simon’s responsibilities include oversight of all Envie Holdings companies, where his keen analytical and financial insights lay the foundation for the processes and culture behind each of the brands’ high-success, ROI-driven business models. With acumen and discernment, he shapes and channels the companies’ creative and visionary talent into an efficient, cohesive workforce that performs at its operational best.
During his career, Simon has developed and led sales and marketing teams, generating more than $2.5B in net sales revenue. His history in the timeshare industry is broad and deep. He is the former President & Chief Operating Officer of Diamond Resorts International® (DRI), which, during his tenure, operated 160 branded and affiliated resorts and destinations in 35 countries. Among his other previous executive leadership roles are President Tesoro Resorts, Mexico; Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Royal Resorts & Grand Residences, Mexico; Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing Shell Vacations LLC; and General Manager for the largest independent leisure and theme park corporation in the United Kingdom.
Simon’s awards, honors, and academic achievement include recipient of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) “Marketing Executive of the Year ‘’ Award and “Volunteer of the Year Award”. He is a former member of ARDA’s Executive Committee and its Board of Directors. He is a past graduate faculty member of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and holds a PhD with an emphasis in Marketing & Strategic Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Simon coauthored the book, Marketing in Hospitality and Tourism: A Consumer Focus, and has authored dozens of articles on marketing, branding, and marketing research. And he is the past Editor of the Journal of Restaurant and Food Service Marketing and past member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management.
