You might want to think twice before you screenshot that person’s Instagram story!

Instagram now can see you when you’re lurking…

…And they have been testing this for months. Screenshots from Twitter a camera shutter icon will appear next to the name of the person who has screenshotted. Although the users will not get a push notification so at least it can be somewhat subtle.

Instagram speaks further about this new feature. … I mean wouldn’t you want to know if your instagram story was being screenshotted?

Instagram has been testing this feature with a handful of users. “We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you,” says an Instagram spokesperson.

Instagram isn’t doing this totally on the sly, however. The first time a user attempts to take a screenshot of a story they will see a prompt that says the next time they screenshot a story the creator will be able to see. In other words: You’ve been warned. Instagram users have shown they are not welcoming this new feature according to their reaction on Twitter. How do you feel about this?
